Columbus Crew head coach Caleb Porter to miss Nashville match

Columbus Crew head coach Caleb Porter will miss their match in Nashville tonight, the club announced Wednesday morning. Porter entered the MLS Health and Safety protocols on Tuesday afternoon. Assistant coach Ezra Hendrickson will take charge of the team in his absence.

In addition to Porter, midfielder Luiz Diaz and defender Jonathan Mensah are in the protocols, which mandates that players and staff quarantine if they test positive for Covid-19 or are deemed a close contact of someone who tests positive.

Porter earned his 100th MLS win on Saturday with a 4-0 victory over Inter Miami CF. The Crew are currently in 10th place in the Eastern Conference with 37 points, and played Nashville to a 0-0 draw in their only prior meeting this season back in July.
