Elliot Panicco leaves Nashville SC on loan

Nashville SC announced Friday that goalkeeper Elliot Panicco has joined USL Championship side Indy Eleven on a season long loan. Nashville have a recall clause they can exercise at any point.

Panicco, 25, was drafted 13th overall by Nashville in the 2020 MLS SuperDraft, and served as the backup goalkeeper for all but two matches in the Coyotes’ inaugural season. Panicco spent the 2021 season on loan with Austin Bold in the USL Championship, where he posted 11 clean sheets in 28 starts.

With Panicco’s departure, Nashville have three goalkeepers on their active roster. Joe Willis has played every minute for the club in MLS, and Bryan Meredith served as the backup for the whole of 2021. Will Meyer, selected in the 2022 MLS SuperDraft out of Akron, was recently signed to an MLS contract.

Nashville will take on Minnesota United tomorrow evening in Saint Paul.
