Gregg Berhalter names USMNT roster for Concacaf Nations League Final Four

US Men’s National Team manager Gregg Berhalter named his final roster for the Concacaf Nations League Final Four on Monday. The 23-player squad will take on Honduras in a semifinal match on June 3, and will play a friendly match against Switzerland on May 30 to prepare.

“We are excited to gather this group together as we compete to win the Nations League trophy,” USMNT head coach Gregg Berhalter said in the press release. “It’s been a great year for our player pool and the unprecedented successes of winning multiple league and cup championships. Our focus now becomes continuing this success with the National Team.”

19 of the 23 players ply their trade in Europe, with David Ochoa, Kellyn Acosta, Sebastian Lletget and Jackson Yueill the lone MLS representatives. It’s a young roster, averaging 17 caps and 23 years, 336 days old. 13 players on the squad are under 23.

The USMNT have a busy summer in store, with the Concacaf Gold Cup taking place in July and August. Berhalter is expected to select mostly a different group of players for that tournament, before World Cup qualification resumes in August.
