Hany Mukhtar named MLS Player of the Month

Hany Mukhtar was announced as Major League Soccer’s Player of the Month for May. The reigning Landon Donovan MLS MVP led MLS with six goals, adding two assists to lead the league with eight goal contributions in the month.

Mukhtar currently leads MLS with 16 goal contributions, a category which he led in 2021 (28) and 2022 (34). Nashville won four matches and 13 points in May, setting a club record for the best single month in their history. Mukhtar also became the fifth-fastest player in league history to reach 50 regular season goals and 30 regular season assists, doing so in just 93 matches.

It’s Mukhtar’s second Player of the Month honor since joining Nashville. He’s just the fifth player in league history to win the award in consecutive seasons, along with Valentín Castellanos (2020-2021), Josef Martínez (2017-19), Robbie Keane (2012-13), and Chris Wondolowski (2010-12).
