Huntsville City FC announce 2023 award winners

Huntsville City FC, Nashville SC’s MLS NEXT Pro affiliate, announced their 2023 award winners in a private ceremony held on Tuesday.

Midfielder Kemy Amiche, on loan from Nashville SC, was named Player of the Year. Amiche has made 26 appearances (22 starts), and leads the team with 14 goal contributions (eight goals, six assists). He also leads Huntsville in shots (62) and shots on goal (29).

Azaad Liadi was voted Players’ Player of the Year, as well as taking home the team Golden Boot. The striker’s 12 goals are tied for sixth-most in MLS NEXT Pro, despite playing just over 1,400 minutes on the season, missing seven matches with injury. Per American Soccer Analysis, Liadi was one of the most dangerous forwards in the league, notching a second-best 0.81 goals scored per 96 minutes played.

Finally, midfielder Ollie Wright was named Supporters’ Player of the Year, also winning the Community award. Wright was tied with Amiche for the team lead in assists with six, and his lone goal was a stunner.
