NASHVILLE, TN – Huntsville City FC have announced another trio of signings ahead of their MLS NEXT Pro debut on Sunday. Nashville’s reserve side announced contracts for Sean Suber, Joey DeZart and Shaun Joash to bolster their squad.
“We are excited to welcome all three young men to our growing project in Huntsville,” said Liam Doyle, Director of Soccer Operations with Huntsville, in a statement. “Each player possesses unique individual qualities that will enable Huntsville City FC to be competitive in year one and beyond. Joey DeZart possesses MLS experience which will be vital in leading a young group. That combined with his technical quality and physical dominance make Joey an important part of the group. Joash and Suber are young, hungry professionals with an exciting future and players who can heavily contribute to our team in year one.”
Sean Suber, 21, was selected with the 35th overall pick of the 2023 MLS SuperDraft. The center back played 37 matches for UNC Charlotte, and was a standout performer with Nashville in preseason, appearing in four matches and earning the praise of Gary Smith.
Joey DeZart has plenty of MLS experience. The 24-year-old midfielder played 29 games with Orlando City, as well as seven matches for their MLS NEXT Pro side in 2022. DeZart also played with Nashville in preseason as a trialist.
Shaun Joash is the second forward signed to the roster. After a standout season with Grand Canyon University at the collegiate level, he was named Western Athletic Conference Player of the Year in 2022, scoring 11 goals and assisting seven.
