Injury Report: Three Titans miss Wednesday’s practice

The Titans are back on the field for their first normal week of practice in quite some time as they prepare to host the undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers this weekend.

Here’s the first injury report of the week for both squads…

Titans

PlayerWednesdayThursdayFridayStatus
OLB Jadeveon Clowney (Knee)DNP
TE MyCole Pruitt (Illness)DNP
OT Isaiah Wilson (Illness)DNP
DL DaQuan Jones (Foot)Limited
OT Dennis Kelly (Knee)Limited
TE Jonnu Smith (Ankle)Limited

THOUGHTS

The Titans have about as clean an injury report as one could’ve hoped. Clowney is simply taking a maintenance day, while Pruitt and Wilson are working back from the COVID list. Pruitt may take a bit of time to get back to full strength for practice; it’s unknown how COVID has affected his conditioning.

Jones continues to nurse his foot injury, while Kelly was apparently limited for a knee issue. Jonnu practicing in any capacity today after he was unable to finish last Sunday’s contest is encouraging. We’ll monitor their progress throughout the week.

Adoree Jackson returned to practice on Wednesday, although he’s not yet been added back to the active roster. Taylor Lewan unfortunately will miss the remainder of the season with his ACL tear.

WR Diontae Johnson (Back)Full

THOUGHTS

The Steelers key veterans take maintenance days often, and it appears that is the case for Pouncey, Roethlisberger, Smith-Schuster, and Tuitt this week.

Hilton and Watt left last Sunday’s game against Cleveland with injuries. Head coach Mike Tomlin spoke about both players earlier this week:

“Derek Watt experienced some hamstring discomfort throughout the game as he worked his way back from his previous hamstring injury and that’ll make his availability questionable as we prepare this week. We’ll look at his practice participation and the quality of it and let that kind of be our guide in terms of his availability. Mike Hilton same thing with his shoulder injury. It’s probably going to limit him at the early portions of the week. We’ll watch him and watch him close and let that be our guide in terms of how we proceed.”

DeCastro and Johnson missed last week’s game entirely. The fact that they both returned in some capacity points to their return in Week 7.

Bush, like Lewan for the Titans, suffered a torn ACL in Week 6 and will miss the rest of 2020.
