Inside the Mind of Peter Skoronski, by Northwestern OL coach Kurt Anderson

The Tennessee Titans selected Northwestern offensive lineman Peter Skoronski with the No. 11 overall selection in the 2023 NFL Draft. Skoronski projects as an immediate starter on Mike Vrabel’s revamped offensive line. Despite playing tackle at Northwestern, Skoronski is expected to play left guard for the Titans.

Northwestern offensive line coach Kurt Anderson oversaw Skoronski's development for the Wildcats. Anderson has coached a number of high-level NFL offensive linemen, a list that includes Rashawn Slater and Frank Ragnow. A member of Michigan’s National Championship-winning team in 1997, Coach Anderson is highly experienced when speaking to Skoronski’s abilities.

Coach Anderson recently spoke exclusively with Broadway Sports. Anderson discussed the fit between the Titans and Skoronski. Anderson also touched on Skoronski’s oft-talked-about arm length, switching positions from tackle to guard, and more.

JM: First things first. How do you like the fit between Peter Skoronski and the Tennessee Titans?

Coach Anderson: I absolutely love it. That’s the honest truth. They have a blue-collar type of staff and philosophy. I think they [Titans] fit Peter’s personality and overall approach to the game of football.

He wants to be in a room with a bunch of great guys. As good of a pass protector as he is, he really loves run blocking and getting after defenders. He wants to break your will in the fourth quarter.
