Mike Vrabel told reporters today before practice that the Titans have an offer out to Jadeveon Clowney. There has been a ton of speculation around the Titans and Clowney. Now we have concrete proof that there is an offer on the table.
The Clowney updates started coming in fast and furious last night. To sum it up, it seems like we are down to a two-team race between the Titans and the Saints. New Orleans reportedly had people in Houston to make a final pitch to Clowney’s camp. That report also states that Saints players have been reaching out to Clowney personally.
We have seen Titans players reaching out to Jadeveon Clowney on Twitter:
We can assume that Johnathan Joseph, who has been one of Clowney’s closest friends since they played together at South Carolina, has been reaching out as well.
A decision has to come soon. Clowney will have to pass three COVID tests in four days plus a physical before he can be on the practice field. They really need to get that process rolling so he can be in town when the Titans start their game-week preparations for the Broncos. Tennessee does have the benefit of an extra day since they do not open the season until Monday night.
There was a report earlier this week that the Titans were frustrated with Clowney’s camp because he would not come to Nashville for a physical. The Titans have not given the impression of frustration publicly. Vrabel still had plenty of good things to say about “JD” when he spoke to the media today.
