After starting the season with an eight match road trip, Nashville will open their new Fairgrounds stadium against Philadelphia Union in a nationally televised meeting on May 1.

Nine of Nashville’s 2022 matches will be shown on national television, a significant uptick from their three national broadcasts in 2021. Six of those matches will be at Nashville’s new Fairgrounds stadium, giving the league a full view of their new home.

After moving to the Western Conference, Nashville will play eight matches against Eastern Conference opponents.

Fortunately for Nashville fans, MLS kept schedule makers provided another opportunity to build their rivalries with Atlanta United and FC Cincinnati, despite the conference switch. Nashville will also take on new expansion side Charlotte FC on July 9 in a nationally televised match on FS1.

While Nashville had a road-heavy schedule down the stretch last year, their run up to the playoffs will be bolstered by a heavy home slate. 17 of their final 26 matches will be played at home, playing on the road just four times from August onward.

Nashville will play just seven league matches midweek, a welcomed change from the past two seasons. Their fixture list expand to include the US Open Cup and Leagues Cup, but the bulk of their matches will be played on weekends, with 20 played on Saturdays and 10 on Sundays.

We’ll have more reaction to Nashville’s schedule in the coming days.
