NASHVILLE, TN – Nashville SC announced their end-of-year awards in a private ceremony on Tuesday night.
Hany Mukhtar took home the team’s Most Valuable Player award. Once again, Mukhtar has lead Nashville in both goals and assist, becoming the seventh player in MLS history to record 10 goals and 10 assists in three separate seasons, and the second-ever to do it in three consecutive seasons.
Shaq Moore was named the team Defender of the Year, making 37 appearances in all competitions. He’s played in all but one of Nashville’s MLS matches, helping them to the best defensive record in the league of just 28 goals allowed.
Sam Surridge‘s 99th minute equalizer against Club América in the Leagues Cup Round of 16 matchup was named the Goal of the Year. It was his debut goal with Nashville, after signing as the sixth Designated Player in club history.
Jacob Shaffelburg was named Newcomer of the Year. The Canadian winger joined on loan from Toronto FC in 2022, with his transfer made permanent in the offseason. He has contributed three goals in 2023.
Taylor Washington was named Humanitarian of the Year for his work with children and the homeless community.
Adem Sipić was named Homegrown Player of the Year after becoming the first academy player to sign a first-team contract. Fellow Huntsville City FC teammate Kemy Amiche was named Huntsville Player of the Year. On loan from Nashville, Amiche led the team with 14 goal contributions.
