Nashville SC assistant coach Brett Jacobs has left the club to join Real Salt Lake, RSL announced Friday. Jacobs will serve as an assistant to head coach Pablo Mastroeni.
Jacobs joined Gary Smith’s staff as an assistant ahead of the 2019 USL Championship season, and was named as an assistant ahead of Nashville’s inaugural season in MLS. Jacobs’ relationship with Smith dates back to Colorado Rapids, where they served on staff together during Smith’s tenure, winning the 2010 MLS Cup.
Nashville’s current coaching staff now consists of Steve Guppy, the first assistant, and Matt Pickens, the goalkeeping coach. The team will depart for their Bradenton, FL, training camp in the next few weeks.
