Nashville SC buyout, waive Miguel Nazarit

Nashville SC announced Tuesday that they have exercised their one offseason buyout on defender Miguel Nazarit and subsequently waived him. Nazarit, 23, was signed with Targeted Allocation Money ahead of Nashville’s inaugural MLS season, and despite being the sixth-highest paid player on the roster last season, made just a single appearance on the bench in his time with Nashville. Nazarit spent the 2021 season on loan at Independiente Santa Fe, where he played sparingly.

By buying Nazarit out, Nashville free up a significant amount of salary budget space, as well as opening up an international roster spot. With Rodrigo Piñeiro set to spend the 2022 season on loan, Nashville will open up two international spots pending any green card acquisitions that may yet take place before the season begins.
