Nashville SC issues warning ahead of Leagues Cup semifinal

NASHVILLE, TN – Nashville SC has issued a warning to fans against tonight’s Leagues Cup semifinal match against CF Monterrey.

“Anyone entering the field of play will be subject to a $15,000 fine, arrested, and banned at all MLS stadiums,” the club announced on Twitter.

The warning is in response to issues during their Round of 16 match against Club América. During the match and the ensuing penalty kick shootout, multiple fans ran onto the field, with the majority attempting to meet and take selfies with América players.

Following the match, Metro Nashville PD confirmed that 18 fans, “mostly, if not all, fans of visiting Club América” were detained and cited for trespassing. In addition to the pitch invasions, supporters threw drinks and other items onto the field at players throughout the match.

Nashville SC take on CF Monterrey tonight at GEODIS Park at 8:30 pm CT.
