Nashville SC loan Ahmed Longmire to Orange County SC

NASHVILLE, Tennessee – Nashville SC announced Thursday that they have loaned defender Ahmed Longmire to Orange County SC in the USL Championship for the remainder of the 2022 season. Longmire can be recalled at any point during the loan.

Nashville traded up in the 2022 MLS SuperDraft to select the 22 year old center back out of UCLA. Longmire hasn’t played for Nashville this season, appearing on the bench in five matches. Loaning him out to a strong USL side will give him much-needed minutes, and follows the pattern Nashville have used for other SuperDraft picks. Jack Maher, Luke Haakenson and Elliot Panicco were all loaned to the USL, before turning into contributors for the MLS club.

Longmire is the fourth Nashville SC player currently on loan. Irakoze Donasiyano and Bryan Meredith are both playing in the USL Championship with Phoenix Rising and Indy Eleven, respectively, while Rodrigo Piñeiro is on a (still unconfirmed) loan with Unión Española in Chile.
