Nashville SC loan Josh Bauer to Sacramento Republic

Nashville SC announced Friday that they’ve loaned center back Josh Bauer to Sacramento Republic of the USL Championship. The loan extends through the remainder of the 2022 season, and Nashville have the option to recall him at any point.

Bauer, 24, was drafted by Nashville in the first round of the 2021 Re-Entry Draft. He was in the match for 18 of Nashville’s matches this season, but didn’t make an appearance in any competition.

With Robert Castellanos back to health after an ankle fracture early in the season and Nashville’s desire to switch to a back four, competition for minutes will increase. Going to Sacramento will give Bauer playing time for one of the best sides in USL, as well as the chance to potentially play in a US Open Cup final.
