Nashville SC receives $175k in GAM from FC Cincinnati for international roster spot

Nashville SC has traded yet another international roster spot, receiving $175,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM) from FC Cincinnati in return. It’s the third international spot they’ve traded this offseason, acquiring a total of $525k in GAM.

The move leaves Nashville with four international spots for the 2021 season. While Hany Mukhtar, Randall Leal, Jhonder Cádiz and Miguel Nazarit currently occupy international spots, General Manager Mike Jacobs said that the club will announce green card acquisitions shortly.

““We’re selling international spots because we’re flipping green cards so quickly,” Jacobs said. “In our league, the biggest asset you can have is GAM. If people want to penalize us for flipping international spots for the most valuable asset in our league, that’s fine. We know how many international spots we need.”

Nashville SC have signed Uruguayan winger Rodrigo Piñeiro from Danubio FC. The move has yet to be officially announced.
