Nashville SC kicked off their 2022 preseason at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida today. With the start of the new season comes new shirt numbers.
Aké Loba has upgraded to the no. 9 shirt ahead of his first full season in Music City. The Ivorian wore number 72 after arriving last summer for a club-record $7 million, but has taken over the number traditionally reserved for the primary striker after the departure of Dom Badji.
Meanwhile, Nashville’s newest signings have selected their numbers. Sean Davis will wear number 54 for the Coyotes after previously wearing 27 for New York Red Bulls. Teal Bunbury has claimed the number 12 shirt, previously worn by Alistair Johnston, and Ethan Zubak will take number 11. Defender Josh Bauer has taken the number 22 shirt vacated by Matt LaGrassa.
Nashville SC will train in Bradenton before playing their first preseason contest on January 28.
