Nashville SC sign goalkeeper CJ Cochran

Nashville SC announced Monday the signing of goalkeeper CJ Cochran on loan from OKC Energy FC of the USL Championship. The deal extends for the remainder of the 2020 season, and includes a purchase option.

“I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity and appreciate John Pascarella, Gary Smith and Mike Jacobs for making it possible,” said Cochran. “I look forward to being in an MLS environment, which is something new to me, and getting on the field and working with guys who are at the top level in this country.”

Cochran will serve as the third choice ‘keeper behind Joe Willis, who has played every minute of the 2020 season, and Eliot Panicco, who was selected in the SuperDraft. Nashville SC recently signed Brady Scott, who is currently on loan with Sacramento Republic in the USL Championship.

Cochran played with Nashville SC in the USL in 2018, serving as the backup to Matt Pickens. Cochran made five appearances in all competitions, earning two shutouts and two wins in the US Open Cup. Cochran will wear the number 28 shirt for Nashville SC.
