Nashville SC to visit Louisville City in US Open Cup Round of 16

Nashville SC will travel to Louisville City FC for a US Open Cup Round of 16 match, with the game set to be played on May 25.

Nashville and Louisville’s rivalry dates back to 2018 in the USL Championship. Between 2018 and 2019, the two sides played six times. In their five matches in league play, Nashville won twice, drew once and lost twice. Louisville also knocked Nashville out of the 2018 US Open Cup Round of 16, beating them 2-1 in Louisville.

After beating Atlanta United 3-2 in extra time on Wednesday, Nashville will certainly like their chances of making a deep run in the Open Cup. If they were to beat Louisville, they would face the winner of Orlando City and Inter Miami CF in the quarterfinals.

Update: US Soccer has confirmed that the match will take place on Wednesday, May 25. Kickoff is set for 7 pm ET (6 pm CT).
