Nashville SC announced Thursday morning that they have sent the 19th pick of the SuperDraft second round (46th overall) and a 2021 international roster spot to Vancouver Whitecaps, receiving the 9th pick of the second round (36th overall) and $175,000 of General Allocation Money.
Nashville now possess the 20th overall pick in the First Round, the 9th pick (36th overall) in the Second Round, and the 19th (74th overall), 20th (75th overall) and 32nd (86th overall) selections in the Third Round.
This is the fourth time this offseason that Nashville have traded an international roster spot for $175k in GAM, in addition to one they traded for winger Alex Muyl last summer. This leaves Nashville with three international spots through the summer, and all three are currently occupied. Hany Mukhtar, Randall Leal and Jhonder Cádiz each take up an international spot, although Nashville are expected to announce new green card acquisitions shortly.
The 2021 MLS SuperDraft will take place on Thursday, January 21, starting at 1PM central. It will be broadcast on the league website and app, as well as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Pluto TV. A full list of eligible players can be found here.
