Wednesday, September 9: Nashville SC have officially announced forward Jhonder Cádiz as a designated player on loan from Benfica. Cádiz’s loan runs through June 31, 2021, with a purchase option Nashville can trigger at any point during the loan.

Saturday, August 29: Nashville SC have signed Benfica forward Jhonder Cádiz, according to Venezuelan journalist Leopoldo Salazar.

According to Salazar, Cádiz will join Nashville on a one year loan for $500k, with a purchase option for $3 million. We’re keeping an eye on this one, but it’s picking up steam. Where there’s smoke, there’s (usually) fire.

Monday, August 24: Nashville are interested in Benfica striker Jhonder Cádiz, according to Portuguese outlet Report.
Cádiz spent the last season on loan in France with Ligue 1 side Dijon, where he scored four goals in 22 appearances. Prior to joining Benfica, Cadiz played for Vitória Setúbal, also in Portugal, where he scored a career high nine goals in 2018-19. Cadiz has yet to make an appearance for Benfica, but has two caps for the Venezuelan national team.
The initial story from Report was unclear as to whether the proposed move would be a transfer or a loan, although Nashville have previously been interested in loan moves for players like Maxi Romero.

Saturday, August 22: Nashville have been linked with a move for Colombian striker Déiber Caicedo, accoring to a report from Juan Felipe Cadavid. The 20 year old currently plays for Deportivo Cali in the Colombian first division, making 52 appearances for the senior team after progressing through the youth ranks. He’s positionally flexible, able to play both through the middle or on the wing.
According to Cadavid’s report, Cali are primarily interested in selling, whereas Nashville want a loan move. As with others, Nashville’s interest in a loan move tracks with prior reports.
