Nashville SC will play Birmingham Legion in final preseason friendly

Nashville SC announced Thursday that they’ve added a final match to their 2021 preseason. The second-year MLS side will take on USL Championship’s Birmingham Legion in a closed-door friendly at Nissan Stadium on April 10.

Nashville’s preseason in Bradenton, FL, was cut short, with all three of their scheduled matches against MLS opponents cancelled due to unspecified “health and safety” concerns. They played a single match against Tampa Bay Rowdies, a 1-0 win for the Boys In Gold. Their only prior contest was a 4-0 win over Louisville City at their Currey Ingram Academy training facility.

With Nissan Stadium open to 33% capacity for their April 17th season opener, the club once again cited Covid concerns in their decision not to allow fans or media to attend the match.
