Nashville SC’s Hany Mukhtar named to MLS Team of the Week

Nashville SC’s Hany Mukhtar was named to the MLS Team of the Week for the final week of regular season matches. The attacking midfielder entered the match as a substitute in the 76th minute, his first appearance since going off injured against Houston Dynamo on October 14.

Down 2-1 when he entered the match, Nashville were galvanized by his return. Mukhtar pulled Nashville level with a well-taken header in the 88th minute, and then assisted Jhonder Cádiz’s 93rd minute winner with a set piece delivery.

Mukhtar is just the third Nashville player to be named to the Team of the Week multiple times this season, with Joe Willis and Randall Leal receiving two nods each.

As Nashville SC hope to make noise in the playoffs, having a healthy and in-form Mukhtar will be crucial to their success.
