Nashville SC’s Joe Willis named to MLS Team of the Week

Nashville SC goalkeeper Joe Willis was named to the MLS Team of the Week following his heroics in a 0-0 draw against Inter Miami CF. The netminder made two early saves to deny Miami an opener, preserving a point and a clean sheet for Nashville.

It’s the third time Willis has been named to the Team of the Week in a Nashville shirt, getting the nod twice in 2020. He’s the second Nashville player to be recognized this season; Randall Leal earned the nod in Week 1, after a stellar performance against FC Cincinnati.

Inter Miami’s Ryan Shawcross was also named to the team, after an impressive performance on the road to keep the Nashville attack at bay. The Premier League veteran made five interceptions and seven clearances to earn a point against an improved Nashville attack.
