Nashville SC’s Leal and Zimmerman named to MLS Team of the Week

Nashville SC’s Randall Leal and Walker Zimmerman were named to the MLS Week 20 Team of the Week, following Nashville’s 3-0 win over FC Dallas and 1-1 draw with New England Revolution.

Randall Leal finished the week with a goal and two assists. The designated player scored the opening goal against FC Dallas on Tuesday and assisted Nashville’s third, a run and strike from Daniel Ríos that grabbed plenty of headlines.

Leal and Walker Zimmerman combined for Nashville’s loan goal against New England. Leal combined with Derrick Jones to earn a corner kick, and then served up the delivery for Zimmerman to head home.

As well as scoring the goal, Zimmerman was crucial to Nashville’s defensive efforts, keeping a clean sheet against Dallas and limiting New England to a single goal. The center-back made four clearances and recovered the ball twice.

Zimmerman’s goal was his third of the season, putting him level with Daniel Ríos and Hany Mukhtar for the team lead.

Leal has scored twice and assisted three more this season. His five goal contributions are tied with Mukhtar for the most on the team.
