Nashville SC’s Walker Zimmerman called up to the US Men’s National Team

Nashville SC’s Walker Zimmerman has been called up to the US Men’s National Team for their December 9 friendly against El Salvador. The MLS Defender of the Year joins a 22 player squad, all but one of whom are based in Major League Soccer.

The 27 year old has been capped 12 times by the US, scoring twice. His last appearance came on February 1 in a 1-0 win over Costa Rica, shortly before being traded to Nashville SC.

An MLS Best XI selection for the 2020 season, Zimmerman anchored the best defense in expansion history, allowing just 22 goals this season.

The US National Team will play against El Salvador on Wednesday, December 9, at 7:30 PM Eastern time. Fans can watch the match on a yet-to-be-announced ESPN Network.
