Nashville SC’s Luke Haakenson and Jack Maher named to MLS Team of the Week

Nashville SC midfielder Luke Haakenson has been named to the MLS Team of the Week for his performance in a 3-2 win over Toronto, while defender Jack Maher was named to the bench.

Haakenson came off the bench in the 59th minute with the Boys in Gold down 1-0. He scored an opportunistic goal in the 83rd minute to bring Nashville level, and added a composed finish in the 92nd minute to secure the win for the home side. The goals were his first in MLS after becoming a core part of the squad in his second year as a professional.

Jack Maher was recalled from loan to cover for Walker Zimmerman, who missed the match with a personal issue. The former second-overall SuperDraft pick made just his second-ever MLS start and marked it with his first MLS goal, a well-taken finish from a Hany Mukhtar corner kick.

Nashville are currently in 6th place in the Eastern Conference, with 14 points from nine matches. They’ll have another match at home this weekend, with CF Montréal traveling to Music City.
