Predators X-Factors against the Coyotes

Nearly one week away from restarting the season, albeit directly in the playoffs, plenty of questions already surround the Predators and what we can expect from them against the Coyotes. 

On both ends of the ice, we’ve seen good things so far during this faux training camp. Nashville’s looked cool, calm, and collected, which is a far cry from how they looked before the stoppage. Granted, not everything has been unicorns and rainbows.

But who will be the game changers? Who will be the players that end up being the difference-makers to potentially send the Predators through to the next round? Let’s take a look…

Offensive X-Factor - Kyle Turris

“He listens.”

That’s what Turris said about head coach John Hynes during a press conference this past week when asked what his conversations have been like between the two over the hiatus. While largely innocuous, I don’t believe Turris would have said the same about former Predators coach Peter Laviolette, who was fired back in January.

Turris has seen a bit of a resurgence since Hynes took over. Prior to Laviolette’s departure, Turris netted 17 points in 34 games. In the 28 games afterward, Turris pulled in 14 points and saw a nearly two percent increase in his shooting percentage, along with playing almost two and a half minutes more per night on . . .
