Randall Leal acquires green card, no longer occupies international roster spot

NASHVILLE, TN – Nashville SC’s Randall Leal has acquired his permanent resident card (“green card”) ahead of the 2023 Major League Soccer season, a club spokesperson confirmed. The Costa Rican midfielder will no longer require and international roster spot on Nashville’s roster.

Leal, 25, joined Nashville as a Designated Player ahead of their inaugural 2020 season from Costa Rican powerhouse Saprissa. He’s been close to a green card since early 2021, but post-pandemic delays at the Costa Rican visa office hindered the process.

Nashville have traded away seven of their eight 2023 international roster slots, bringing in a total of $1,250,000 in General Allocation Money.
