Randall Leal named to Costa Rica’s Concacaf Nations League roster

Nashville SC’s Randall Leal has been named to Costa Rica’s final 23 man roster for the upcoming Concacaf Nations League final four. Los Ticos are set to play Mexico on Thursday, June 3, for a chance to play in the final.

Leal, 24, has appeared 17 times for Costa Rica, including making three appearances in the 2019 Gold Cup. Leal was most recently a part of Costa Rica’s Olympic qualifying campaign, starting all three of their matches and scoring twice in a 5-0 win over the Dominican Republic.

In MLS, Leal has been Nashville’s standout performer. The winger has scored twice and added a pair of assists, earning two nods for the MLS Team of the Week.

After Costa Rica’s semifinal match on June 3, they’ll play in either the final or third-place match on June 6, as well as a friendly against the United States on June 9. Nashville SC will be on international break during that time, and won’t play until June 18. Without international travel requiring quarantine (and the Covid protocols less strict), Leal shouldn’t miss any matches with Nashville.
