Recap: Nashville held to scoreless draw at home by Toronto

NASHVILLE, TN – Nashville SC and Toronto FC shared a point on Saturday night at Geodis Park, with neither side able to break the deadlock in a rather dreary match played in front of the backdrop of tragedy in the Nashville community.

On the pitch

Nashville kept a clean sheet and struggled to create many meaningful chances.

What happened off the field, though, was far more important. Still reeling from the murder of six innocent people at The Covenant School on March 27, supporters united in Nashville’s first home match since the tragedy for six minutes of silence. A moment for each of the victims tragically lost by yet another senseless shooting.

Nashville and Toronto cancelled each other out on the field, with neither side able to create more than half chances. The most notable part of the match, though, was what happened off the field.

Up next

Nashville travel to face New York City FC next Saturday at 6:30 pm CT.
