Report: Former Texans OC to join Titans staff

It is being reported by Jeremy Fowler of ESPN that Tim Kelly will join the Titans offensive staff.

As of right now, the role for Tim Kelly is unknown, but any outside voices should be helpful in fixing what was a broken Titans offense in 2021.

Mike Vrabel and Tim Kelly spent time together with the Texans from 2014-2017 before Vrabel left to become the head coach of the Titans. After the 2020 season, Mike Vrabel requested to interview Kelly for the vacant offensive coordinator position, but his request was denied by Houston.

Kelly can help fix the drop back passing game, but I also think it should be noted that he helped develop Deshaun Watson and also Davis Mills, who far exceeded expectations in 2021. Should the Titans draft a young QB, I feel a lot better about that player’s development with Kelly on staff.

Fun Fact: Tim Kelly is the brother of former Titan OL, Dennis Kelly.
