Nashville SC defender Robert Castellanos fractured his ankle on loan with Tampa Bay Rowdies in the USL Championship. The 23-year-old center back had surgery in Nashville on Wednesday, and will be out for at least 12 weeks.

Castellanos was injured just 12 minutes into his Tampa Bay debut, landing awkwardly on his right ankle after leaping to control a ball over the top. The injury comes at an especially unfortunate time for Castellanos, who looked set for a starting role for one of the USL’s top sides.
