Rodrigo Piñeiro transfers to Unión Española

Unión Española announced the signing of winger Rodrigo Piñeiro on a three year contract, running through the 2025 season. Piñeiro, 23, was signed as Nashville SC’s first-ever U22 Initiative signing ahead of the 2021 season for a reported $1.7 million, but struggled to break into the team, playing just 16 minutes in 2021.

Piñeiro was quietly loaned out to Unión Española in the Chilean top flight in the offseason (Nashville never acknowledged the move), where he scored seven goals and added an assist in 21 appearances.
