Another name has been linked to Nashville SC as an attacking reinforcement: Déiber Caicedo. According to a report from Juan Felipe Cadavid, Nashville are pursuing Caicedo, a 20-year-old attacker currently playing for Deportivo Cali, who has also represented Colombia internationally at the U17 and U20 levels.

Speedway Soccer has previously reported on Nashville’s interest in fowards like Aké Loba and more recently Maxi Romero, and Caicedo definitely fits into that model. As with Romero, Cadavid reports that Nashville are primarily interested in a loan for Caicedo, which fits with their desire to see how a player performs in Nashville before finalizing a permanent move.
Caicedo is a versatile attacker, capable of playing as a central option or on the wing. He’s made 52 appearances for Deportivo Cali after coming through their youth system, scoring four and assisting 13. He has two assists in nine matches so far in 2020.

Very good technique on the ball, shoots well from range, good at set pieces & fairly quick.
Lacks a little physically but a useful player who should do well at this level.

Nashville SC travel to Atlanta United tonight. They played two matches against FC Dallas to resume their season, taking four points from the series. The expansion side is currently in 11th place in MLS’s Eastern Conference, two points behind Atlanta with a game in hand.
We’ll have more on this story as it develops.
