It’s not a Jon Robinson article y’all! Well it kind of is, because the players I am complaining about are largely Robinson decisions, but this is the last you’ll hear that name! Instead I am turning my sights on you, the fans.

However, I will say that the subscribers to our web site are the smarter section of the fan base, so none of these rants are really targeted at you, but at least you can enjoy and join in on my cathartic journey.

The idea for this article was prompted by portions of Mike Herndon’s and mine conversations on the latest “Football & Other F Words”, surrounding Dylan Cole and Marcus Mariota, who both will be mentioned in this article.

Today, I talk about “Fan Narratives” that surround certain types of players this fan base just can’t stay away from.

Tres Winn (@TresWinn): I’d like your thoughts on the current standing of the DC Universe, James Gunn, etc. I’ll hang up and listen.. thanks!

A close friend of mine talked about this Thursday night as we watched the Grizz dominate the Bucks. Overall, I am okay with the direction. I am disheartened by no Henry Cavill as Superman, and that Shazam, which I thoroughly enjoyed, is hanging in the balance. However, I see the overall vision. If you’re trying to compete with the MCU, the current state of the DCEU wasn’t working. Too many perceived failures that leave bad taste in the mouth in the non-nerd consumers.

That’s what has worked for the MCU so well, is the fact that you don’t have to be a comic book nerd to enjoy or follow their movies. You have to go younger, and change things up to get a different outcome. While they say the Batverse will remain separate, going younger with other heroes, leaves the possibility it can be incorporated at some point.

Jacob Sain (@JSainity): No way that’s what I was going to ask! I’ll instead let you share your thoughts about Henry Cavill’s Superman and lament the fact that WB wasted him like the Titans are wasting Derrick Henry.

The Titans aren’t wasting Derrick Henry, but WB definitely wasted Henry Cavill. There already should’ve been a second Man of Steel, and they will regret this when he goes on to carry another franchise. If I was Barbara Broccoli, I’d be throwing the bag at Cavill to play James Bond, before Kevin Feige snags him for the MCU. Either way, Cavill will be fine, and make them regret it.

Harold Landry’s Good ACL (@JDJD2814): We HAVE to bring Lewan back next year if he agrees to a team friendly deal, right?

IF, and I think it’s a 3% chance of happening IF, Taylor Lewan wants to play for a very minimal amount, yes, bring him back. However, this team has to get younger and be focused on the future. He shouldn’t be a part of that future.

’23 NBA Champs (@Jeffdebarbarian): For the love of God tell me why Radunz can’t get a single snap at LT, even if he needs help it better than Daley by a country mile.

Some remarks coming out of Friday may give fans what they want. However, I am not buying it until I see it. Either way, for whatever reason, this team sure seems like it’s going out of its way for Derrick Henry, while sacrificing Ryan Tannehill to the wolves. Because the only thing Daley is better than Radunz at is run blocking, and it ain’t even by that much.

See y’all next week.
