I know probably everyone is sick and tired of talking about Jon Robinson being fired, especially with a game being played on Sunday, but this is a timeline altering moment for the franchise. However, I am going to go a little bit different and talk about Robinson’s tenure as general manager through by judging the Process and the Result.

Braden and I sort of circled around this topic on the latest episode of A Football Show. Here’s how I am going to approach this without venturing into revisionist history. We are going to look at move or moves that Robinson made and put them into four various categories:

  • A Good Process that led to a Good Result
  • A Good Process that led to a Bad Result
  • A Bad Process that led to a Good Result
  • A Bad Process that led to a Bad Result

Now the move or moves that land in the process categories are what I thought at the time, as to avoid sound revisionist. If you want to question whether this is true, subscribe to Football & Other F Words and A Football Show and go watch/listen to every episode. Also rate us too.

There will be various moves I left off, or forgot about I am sure that fall into those four categories, after all I don’t get paid by the letter. So I am just trying to condense to what I think are some of the bigger moves for each category.

However, I can always admit when I am wrong, which is hardly ever. Unlike other people my tweets, videos, pods all are evidence, and I never say what I don’t mean. I even said on “A Football Show” that after writing my last article, 48 Hours Later, that I realized I skewed everything about Robinson with a little two tone blue tint on my glasses, and I realized there was a lot of bad I kind of swept under the rug.

Other topics we are going to cover in this article: The Move that Got Jon Robinson and Extension. An internal candidate for GM that no one is talking about. Some Bets for both the Titans game and NFL at Large.

Let’s get started.

Jacob Sain (@JSanity): How would you react if the Titans fired Todd Downing in the off-season and replaced him with Bill O’Brien?

Seppuku

Le Chet (@SwaggerVol): W the offense getting progressively worse over the last 2 years what changes can we expect from a philosophical standpoint? Does Vrabel start deferring to others in regards to the offense or do we continue to play keep away w the ball rather than score?

Teresa Walker had an interview with Amy Adams-Strunk that was released last night. In that Strunk said she couldn’t ignore the holes on a roster that has used 76 different players this season after setting an NFL-record with 91 different players last season. She also wants a Super Bowl, and so does Vrabel, not to say Robinson didn’t but it was clear he had struggles building an offense that could contend in that department. I think the main tenets of the philosophy will remain the same: Passer Rating, no turnovers, win in the trenches. However, Vrabel is also a big “x-plays” guy. Explosive plays. He wants them, and wants to limit them. So to get more x-plays on offense you need players that can get that for you. I think look for him to replicate 2019, 2020 type styles of offense.

Dr. McSpankus (@DrMcSpankus): Be there any hope left for the Titans? I struggle to find a silver lining going into the Jags game with everyone and their mother on the injury report.

Tons of hope. Vrabel is still your coach, and I know media wants to tell you this Jaguars team is the next big thing, but a hobbled Trevor Lawrence is great for the team as long as they can generate pressure. I also think Henry will have a big game. Now, that’s just tons of hope for this game. This team isn’t going to a Super Bowl in 2022, and winning playoff games is going to be all about getting healthy and having the perfect match up. But as for Sunday tons of hope still.

See y’all next week.
