For weeks, the Tennessee Titans have been running through a list of diverse candidates for their vacant general manager job.
We’ve seen a number of names that have been linked to the job, but we haven’t reached the crucial next step of the ongoing process.
At least until now we haven’t.
According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, the Titans requested second interviews for three candidates: Ran Carthon, Ian Cunningham, and interim general manager Ryan Cowden.
Bills director of pro personnel Malik Boyd reportedly has an interview scheduled for today as well, his status as a potential serious candidate remains to be seen.
But if he isn’t, the three candidates listed above are all intriguing names.
For the sake of organizational change, Titans fans would likely want the organization to stay away from Cowden, since a new voice and philosophy might be needed in this new era of Titans football.
Which if that’s the route the Titans want to go down, Ian Cunningham stands as a very interesting name due to his rising stardom and the unique way he secured his position with the Chicago Bears.
In any case, once the second round of interviews are over, we’ll then proceed to the likely conclusion of this journey, which is the eventual hiring.
Once that occurs, you can hop back over to Broadway Sports Media to hear our analysis on the hire.
