Roger McCreary was one of Tennessee's most consistent defensive players in 2022. McCreary was extremely valuable for the Titans as a rookie, having played both boundary and nickel corner while leading the entire NFL in defensive snaps. Injuries were a recurring theme for the Titans, but McCreary offered a steadying hand for a defense that lacked week-to-week continuity. It's impossible to overstate what McCreary means to this defense moving forward.
McCreary recently spoke exclusively with Broadway Sports. We reflected on his rookie campaign, playing both inside and outside, leading the NFL in defensive snaps, and more. McCreary appears poised for a massive sophomore season.
JM: It was quite the rookie season for Roger McCreary. You quickly developed into one of Tennessee’s most valuable defensive players. How do you look back on your rookie year?
Roger McCreary: I feel like I had a good rookie season overall. There were some ups and downs. As long as I learn from the downs, that’s all that matters. I feel like it was great to gain so much experience throughout my rookie season.
I’m not going to be surprised as a sophomore. There’s literally nothing that can surprise me this season. I’ve been in just about every situation and scenario. I’m feeling extremely comfortable right now.
JM: You mentioned some ups and downs. What was the biggest lesson you . . .
