Titans have a clear plan for rookie OL Peter Skoronski

The Tennessee Titans have earned rave reviews for selecting former Northwestern offensive tackle Peter Skoronski with the No. 11 overall selection in the 2023 NFL Draft. Tennessee's selection was met with immediate praise, but it also came with a few question marks regarding Skoronski's future positioning.

Skoronski strung together several seasons of impressive tape at left tackle for Northwestern. The problem? Skoronski possesses fourth-percentile arm length with 32 1/4" arms. Skoronski developing into a high-level NFL offensive tackle would be nearly unprecedented based on the measurements. Indianapolis Colts right tackle Braden Smith is the best example. Smith has developed into a quality tackle despite possessing identical arm length (32 ¼”).

Carthon acknowledged Skoronski's shortcomings (pun intended) when addressing the pick.

"We love his versatility," Carthon said throughout Skoronski's introductory press conference. "Whatever his length is, it's his length," Carthon added. "Length was the pre-draft notion from everybody. Can he play tackle?" 

The Titans said all the right things throughout Skoronski's introduction. In typical Vrabel tight-lipped fashion, Skoronski was labeled an "offensive linemen" with little being revealed in regards to their true plans for their first-round selection. The best five and all that jazz.

Sources are now telling Broadway Sports that Skoronski is likely to play left guard for the Titans in 2023.
