Titans initial 53-man roster is set (for now)

The Titans had a 4 p.m. EDT deadline today, Saturday the 5th of September, to release 27 players to get the roster down from 80 to 53.

Jon Robinson and co. have wasted no time doing so, and as we’ve been tracking the roster moves, it’s official now: 53 players remain. Perhaps the most surprising move was keeping 10 offensive linemen and just 4 outside linebackers.

Robinson may still elect to churn the roster once cuts from the 31 other teams around the league are complete, if he sees a prospect worth scooping up.

If Jadeveon Clowney signs, a corresponding cut would need to be made to make room on the roster.

Here’s where the roster stands midway through Saturday afternoon…
