It was no surprise to hear Jon Robinson field plenty of questions about 2020 first-round draft pick Isaiah Wilson in his first offseason media availability.
The Titans’ general manager was direct in expressing his disappointment in Wilson and in challenging the former Georgia standout’s desire to play professional football.
But Robinson’s frustration with Wilson, who played just three offensive snaps last season, may have been most clearly revealed in his response to a different question – one about how he hoped to continually improve the Titans’ roster.
“We’ve got to continue to find players that love football,” Robinson said. “That’s the one thing that we want is guys that love ball, guys that want to be pro football players -- not guys that just put pro football players as their hashtag on their Instagram or their Snapchat or their Twitter, guys that actually want to play the game of pro football.
“Because it’s a strain. Pro football is hard. You’ve got to really love football and want to do it. That’s more than just putting it on your Twitter as your occupation.”
Again, Robinson never mentioned Wilson by name in the response. But it was hard to imagine the answer was delivered without the Brooklyn, New York, native in mind. Because it’s safe to say that to date, Wilson has been far more active on the social . . .
