As you can see, there’s no headline for today. That’s intentional. Typing about Titans or NFL news seems so inconsequential after the events of yesterday afternoon in Texas, so I’m not going to. It’s the offseason, so there’s not a ton of news in general, but even if it was the middle of the regular season, absolutely nothing should overshadow the horrific tragedy that took place.
At least 19 children and a teacher were shot and killed by a gunman. Every time I think of the families and classmates and loved ones of the victims, my chest tightens and I feel nauseous. Children. A 4th grade teacher. As the father of a two year old and the husband to a 4th grade teacher, there’s an extra level of vulnerability I feel as I pray for the safety of my son and my wife as they go about their day to day activities.
A lot of people have said recently that they are sick of “thoughts and prayers”. As a person that believes in the power of prayer and in God, I pray that the people we’ve elected to represent us in our government will make the necessary changes to prevent this sort of tragedy from ever happening again. God bless all of you and thanks for reading.
