Titans News: A most welcome reunion

In a bit of a surprise on Wednesday, the Titans re-signed inside linebacker, Jayon Brown, to a one year deal. The salary is extremely team friendly and he returns as a presumptive starter alongside Rashaan Evans. My dream is that one day this coaching staff will realize that it should be Brown and David Long as the starters, but until then, it’s Evans and Brown.

Anthony Firkser and Geoff Swaim’s new deals were announced yesterday. The two TE’s provide some depth to the room. There has to be another addition, in the form of a starter this offseason, because these two guys, while nice complementary pieces, are not who you want out there getting a ton of work.

The last big transaction on Wednesday was the completed deal with Miami to ship out Isaiah Wilson. In return for the former Bulldog and current artist, the Titans received a 7th rounder in the upcoming draft. Good return on investment.

The free agent pool is drying up and the Titans need some depth at ILB, a starting slot CB, a starting TE, and a WR2 and a WR3. These positions will not all be addressed in free agency, but they need to fill some of the holes so they can truly draft the best player available. Hopefully a WR2 is added in the next few days in the form of a Will Fuller.

  1. If it’s Will Fuller, I hope we have something in the contract about how often he’s on the field. When he plays he’s great, but he’s so damn fragile. Hope Cory Davis enjoys being a Jet.
