Titans News: Arbitraging all over the place

Last week, the Titans released Kenny Vaccaro and Malcolm Butler, two aging, but good members of the defense. Yesterday, the Titans cut Adoree Jackson and Dennis Kelly to clear additional cap space. It’s pretty surprising given how well Kelly played a year ago and Jackson was the only corner on the roster who has ever played substantial snaps at the NFL level.

To mitigate the loss of Jackson, the Titans signed Janoris Jenkins. While a bit long in the tooth, Jenkins is still playing at a high level and is a definite upgrade on the rest of the CB group.

King Henry gave his offensive linemen a gift, sending them each a gold chain and “2K” medallion. Pretty cool of Henry, who continues to treat his teammates well.

In signing Bud Dupree, the Titans are banking on him to solve a lot of their pass rushing woes of years past. This is certainly the most talented front 4 the Titans have had in some time, so expectations should be raised given the capital invested in it.

After two days of free agency, the Titans had more holes than when the season ended. Not a great place to be, but plenty of time to upgrade. Please, for the sake of this defense, let Rashaan Evans go. It won’t be hard to upgrade him.
