Yesterday was a big time pick me up game for the Titans. Nothing flashy from the offense, but a gameplan revolving around protecting the football led to a dominant victory.
Next up for the Titans are the Steelers on extra rest. After being embarrassed on Thursday Night football, I’m sure they’ll want to prove themselves. That being said, if the Titans go and play their brand of football, they should beat Pittsburgh.
For the first time since 2000, the Titans got a shutout at home. Not a small accomplishment no matter the opponent. 4 turnovers led the way and the Titans defense looks very good and that’s with more help in the form of Zach Cunningham, David Long, Jackrabbit Jenkins and Bud Dupree on the way.
Julio isn’t what he once was, but he still looks pretty fast. He wants the ball and I’d imagine the Titans will give him plenty of opportunities down the stretch.
An issue for the Titans on Sunday was pass protection. Tannehill didn’t have enough time to hit Julio on a deep pass and there were several times when he didn’t have a chance to do anything but turtle. This needs to get cleaned up for the stretch run.
