The Titans plan on releasing Julio Jones with a post-June 1st designation. This will free up a little over $9M in cap space, but those won’t be useful savings until after that June 1st date. Unfortunately the release signals that the trade was a disaster. With no second round pick in 2022 and nothing to show for it, it’s hard to imagine how it could have gone much worse. Julio totaled just 31 catches this season, and seemingly got hurt during every game. For 2022, the Titans not only need playmakers, but ones that will be available.
Officially, the Titans have 7 picks in the upcoming draft. They added a couple compensatory selections from last year’s FA losses.
In NFL rule proposal news, the Titans submitted their own rule rework regarding NFL overtime.
It sounds like Baker Mayfield may be on the move, and boy do I hope it’s to the Colts.
