Titans News: Be the best version of yourself

Yesterday, the Titans had their two new coordinators, Todd Downing and Shane Bowen speak to the media. Downing was especially impressive with his answers. He mentioned that he can’t approach the offensive coordinator job as replacing Arthur Smith, but rather focusing on being the best offensive coordinator he can be.

During the Shane Bowen interview, he mentioned that he now has full control over the defensive unit. That makes me think that he was not the defensive coordinator at all in 2020, as Vrabel had previously alluded to in pressers. Hopefully that means the defensive play calling will improve next season.

The second round pick for the Titans last year, Kristian Fulton, wants to make a difference in year two. He’s got a big opportunity available to him and he’s certainly talented, so hopefully the pieces come together.

Mical Johnson has been hired as the Titans’ first full-time female scouting assistant. She interned for the Titans the past season as a scouting intern and attended Belmont University.

Who is the most under-appreciated Titan? NFL.com says Anthony Firkser. I would say that from a National perspective, Firkser is certainly underrated, but from a local one, he’s overrated a great deal.

Gil Brandt wrote an article on the most exciting new QB and pass catcher duos in the NFL. He’s a little early because it does not include Ryan Tannehill and Julio Jones.
