Titans News: Big Praise

Mike Vrabel typically does not go out of his way to praise players. That’s absolutely ok. However, when he does praise someone, it’s like a Paul Hollywood handshake, the highest achievement a player can earn. On Monday, the praise rolled in for Big Jeff, and deservedly so. Three sacks in the first half, and a handful of pressures. Every week he seems to be becoming more of a dominating force.

Things that stood out for Jim Wyatt on Sunday included the defense, A.J. Brown and Adrian Peterson’s debut. Brown will have better days this season, but he was two drops away from having a really nice game. Thankfully he won’t be facing Jalen Ramsey on a weekly basis.

Jeffri Chadiha writes that Mike Vrabel should get consideration for Coach of the Year. It seems obvious, considering they are the AFC #1 seed despite the amount of injuries sustained. If the Titans do end up with the #1 seed, it would be hard not to give him the award. I know he’ll say he doesn’t care about it, but he’s earned consideration.

In other news, Odell Beckham has been put on waivers by the Browns. I will be very interested to see if anyone puts in a waiver claim. I think the Titans should be all over this, whether by waiver or by trying to add him after he clears. Odell would be a great addition to a team that just lost one of their best playmakers. He would provide needed injury insurance for what is one of the thinnest positions the Titans have. Sure they have a ton of WRs, but the non-A.J./Julio guys do not provide much quality. You do not want to relieve the situation you had a year ago in the playoffs where you’re having to target the WR3/4 (Kalif Raymond) with the game on the line because your top guys are injured.
